After spending months searching for a custom home builder, by fate we met up with Andy from Dreams-2-Reality. Andy was honest, straight forward, helpful and generous through every stage of the building process.

My husband and I have worked with a number of contractors for various home improvement projects over the years, and time and again were disappointed by the lack of professionalism we encountered. However, Andy more than exceeded our (high) expectations in his work on our backyard cabana/outdoor kitchen/bathroom project.

The home Andy built as his first “spec home” is truly our dream home. We had planned to build a custom home when we found our home, and we couldn’t be happier or more proud!

From the beautiful architectural details to the easy, open floor plan…this is certainly not the average spec home. The quality of the construction is far above average standards. Our Home Inspector commented more than once on how well-built the home is and the extra time obviously spent on its construction and the attention to detail. Shortly after we moved in we talked to Andy about constructing a storage building/workshop. Andy was quick to take on this “small” project, even though he had many larger, more lucrative projects going, and our workshop was completed quickly.

Having a custom home built has been a dream of ours forever. We were fortunate to see the wonderful work Andy’s team performed in building our son’s new home. We then realized that Andy would be able to build that custom home we had always dreamed about.

About 2 years ago, Kevin and I started looking at floor plans for our first home. After looking on the internet, in books, and walking through houses, everything was beginning to look the same. The custom home builders we talked to all seemed to have the same outlook and didn’t really impress us too much.

Finally we met Andy and had a nice long talk about quality and pride in building custom homes. Unlike the other custom home builders, Andy took the time to show us a few of his homes in the different stages of building. He also took the time to explain to us why he uses the top of the line products and doesn’t cut corners on anything.

As the process of building our first home continued, Andy met with us regularly to set deadlines. He even helped us with the “small stuff” like picking out brick, paint, carpet, tile, etc. With Andy, the customer satisfaction is top priority. If you make a bad choice and want to change something, he can make it happen.

For the past thirty years, we have lived in an eighty year old house. After many years of debating to either spend a lot of money and time on a complete renovation or to build a new home, we decided to build a new custom home.

Having never built a new home before and after hearing horror stories from other people who had built, my husband and I were concerned about finding a custom home builder that would meet all of our requirements. We not only wanted a builder with experience but one who was honest, one who would listen to our ideas and one who would give us good advice.

A friend of ours knew Andy (Dreams 2 Reality Custom Homes) and set up a meeting. After the first ten minutes of our four hour meeting, we knew that we had found a builder that we could both trust and work with. We both left the meeting feeling really excited about building our new home.

For thirty-one years, I had built our home in my mind and collected, in a stuffed folder, ideas and things that I wanted in our home. During the first meeting, I provided Andy the house plans, paint colors, floor samples, cabinet type and appliances that we wanted. Andy gave us a ball park figure on the cost of the house. Throughout the building process, we stayed pretty close to our budget. If we went over, it was because we chose to. There were no “hidden cost” surprises.

New and Happy Home Owners,

We had decided to make some major renovations in our kitchen and family room. After four contractors told us our dream kitchen was not possible, a friend told us to call Dreams 2 Reality. Andy Dean, the owner, came immediately, crawled into the attic, came out covered in dust and told us it was possible. He came back with his engineer and developed a plan within a week. He started when he said he would and completed all work on time.

We went out of town for two weeks during the renovations. We left the entire house in his hands, (including the fish). When we came back everything was clean and the kitchen was beautiful. We were so happy with the work, we had him do more. Andy was always available to us and very reliable during the renovation process.

As expected from knowing and working with Andy for years, he delivered a quality product at a very competitive price. Andy’s conscientiousness and integrity ensures a first class product. He manages and coordinates the contractors from start through finish to deliver as the contract states, at minimum. Andy Dean wants all of his Dreams 2 Reality customers to be completely satisfied. Well, we’re not. We’re more than completely satisfied with Andy – we’re very happy that we chose Andy to build our new custom home!

We probably got off on what would have been a bad start with someone else. We contacted Andy about two years before we were ready to build. When we finally had our new house plans drawn up and ready to go, we were shocked to learn that Andy didn’t want to build those plans on our property. The property had been cleared and some of the fill for the foundation brought in. What could be wrong? That’s when we learned just how much we could trust Andy with our new home. He didn’t want to build those plans on our property because he suspected that we might have foundation problems several years down the road, and he didn’t want that for one of his customers.

Andy didn’t just walk away and tell us to call him when we had another piece of property to build on, he helped us find a realtor to negotiate for us, pointing us to a lot that he himself had been thinking about buying. We looked around and tried to find another lot we liked better, but Andy was right from the beginning. The day after we had closed on the new property, Andy arranged for the clearing to begin, doing his best to get us back “on schedule” with our plans.

Every step of the way Andy was in contact with us, usually initiating the contact, but always returning our calls, normally within an hour (sometime less). He understood our budget constraints and offered ideas for saving money and time whenever possible… checking with us before every significant expense to make sure we had not changed our minds. Whenever we did change our minds about something, it was never a problem, but simply a discussion about options and making it all work together.

We met most of his subcontractors during the process. It was a pleasure to meet with them and we were always left with the impression that they really did care about doing their part to build our new home, to get it right the first time, and to correct anything that might need changing.

Andy and his subcontractors keep their promises. Everything we’ve noticed that wasn’t quite right after we’d moved in to our new home has been corrected, and usually fairly soon after it’s been brought to their attention. No hassling about it.

Would we have Andy build another home for us? Absolutely. But we’re planning to stay in our current home for a long time!

Andy Dean was the first homebuilder I contacted when I was interested in building. Not knowing anything about the process, I had a lot of questions that Andy answered patiently and in a way that I could understand. We had many such conversations before our initial meeting. At that meeting, I was very impressed by Andy’s professionalism and attention to details. Andy asked about my preferences, suggested features and showed me examples of the features in homes that he has built. This was extremely helpful and opened my eyes to the custom details available that would make my home my own showcase. That initial meeting lasted over 2 hours. Not once did Andy seem distracted or in a hurry.

After meeting with Andy, I interviewed several other builders. The next builder that I interviewed met with me less than 30 minutes! I kept waiting for the level of meeting that I had with Andy but it never materialized! I remember being totally surprised because I had driven quite a distance to meet with this builder and then was shown the door in such a short period of time. None of the other builders I interviewed provided the level of detail as Andy.

As a home builder and business professional, Andy Dean with Dreams-2-Reality is truly top notch. My wife and I were very impressed with his attention to detail throughout the building process. Andy spent several hours during our initial meeting working to clearly identify what we wanted in a home. Upon our 2nd meeting, Andy presented an excel spreadsheet breaking down all costs and options for construction.

Clearly, Andy brings his former corporate business experience into his home building, a fact that eliminates confusion as the numbers are all presented in an understandable fashion. Andy uses the same subcontractors and has high standards of quality. With Andy’s and the cabinet painter’s help we were able to easily coordinate our main wall colors with all aspects of the kitchen without hiring a decorator. Along those same lines, Andy is very creative and quite helpful in suggesting changes necessary to create a truly custom home with eye appeal.

During the construction process, Andy makes sure the home owner is informed and included in all important decisions. I remember our electrical walk-through took around 2 hrs. but allowed us, with the electrical contractor and Andy, to properly place all lighting and switches. As to expediency, we were in in under 6 months and don’t feel like the product was rushed in any way.

Andy’s use of conventional slab with a 3rd party inspector is another big selling point. We have neighbors with stained concrete and cheaper slabs that have many more unsightly cracks. We have been in our home nearly 4 years and have only minimal settling cracks. I can’t say enough good things about Andy and the building team he has created. We received a truly custom home and had a great building experience. Thank you Andy!

I would like everyone to know what a fantastic job Dreams2Reality did on our addition. We had a laundry room added and a patio built. If you didn’t know any better, you would never know the laundry room wasn’t part of the house originally. Andy and his team did such a phenomenal job! Andy went above and beyond what I have ever seen a builder do; he even raked the yard himself to be sure all the nails were picked up! He has such an eye for detail, and ensured the job was done right the first time!

When my husband and I met Andy for the first time, we pretty much knew that he was the right builder for us. We tried to keep our options open, but no one else came close. At our initial meeting, Andy came across as very friendly, honest, sincere, and extremely knowledgeable. It was obvious to us that Andy was someone who took pride in his work. Andy, with Dreams 2 Reality built our first custom home in 2012. Even though it was our first experience with a custom home, we immediately recognized Andy’s skill and high level of professionalism. I am a total perfectionist and had high expectations – he far exceeded even my expectations, which is not easy to do!!! Andy spent a lot of time up front breaking down all of the costs involved based on what we could choose, so there was never a question on cost. His crew was professional and hard working. We never had a single complaint, because Andy would recognize any problem and have it fixed before we could even mention it. He was also very flexible, as we added on to what we had planned mid-way through construction.

On a couple of issues when we had problems with a vendor, Andy took care of it. On a particular issue, he spent a huge amount of extra time, not stopping until everything had been resolved to our satisfaction. It did not matter if an issue arose because we changed our mind on something late in the project, he would support us and make sure that what we wanted was done, and be cheerful doing so! He was always accessible, always in a good mood, a pleasure to be around, and always happy to answer any question we might have. He was a great help in interior decorating as well!

We received a perfect 5,000 square foot house in 6 months. After we moved in, Andy was still available to take care of any issue that came up, even though he and his subcontractors were now busy building other people’s dream homes.

My only regret is that I didn’t go through Andy to build things we added later, such as a 3 stall barn. It is truly a testament to Andy that he made building a huge custom house easy and seamless, when I was later pulling my hair out because of all of the problems I was having getting timely and quality work for a 3 stall barn through another contractor.

If you want the perfect house, then Dreams 2 Reality is the way to go! If we ever want to build again, or remodel, Andy will be the only person I want doing the job.
